Our practice is committed to helping you maintain a healthy smile. To do so, we need to see you regularly for dental cleanings and check-up appointments.
DID YOU KNOW?
Dental hygienists are the only healthcare provider that spend a full 2 hours with their patients each year.
We have ten licensed hygienists ready to help you keep your teeth healthy and beautiful.
During a regular visit, your hygienist may take x-rays, will clean the teeth to remove plaque and tartar, and examine your oral tissue for any concerns or problems. One of our doctors will also come into the room during the exam to check in with you and have a look around.
Sometimes more advanced “deep cleanings,” known as scaling and root planning, is needed. It’s a non-surgical procedure performed to remove periodontal gum infection around the teeth and below the gum line using a variety of instruments, and requires two to four visits to complete. Local anesthesia is often used for the patient’s comfort. In more intensive cases, a referral to a periodontist will be given.
An important part of your dental cleaning and check-up appointment is educating you about good oral health habits, so please ask any questions or for recommendations from your hygienist.
